Not exactly sure what you mean by the "line is bad," or how that would have affected the pump but - if it is necessary to replace the line all the way from the pump up to the fuel rail then this would be the time to do it.

You need to replace your fuel sending unit, but you can't get just the fuel sending unit, so you will need to replace the entire fuel pump.
Ford fuel pumps are in the fuel tank. The line comes from the top of the tank, alongside the frame, to the injector manifold. the fuel filter is on the frame below the drivers door. in order the replace the filter you will need to buy a tool the replace it.
If you unit has a Fuel filter on it, I would try changing it. If not your fuel line might need to be replace.
to check the pump ,you need to remove the out fuel line from the pump. this is the line that goes from the pump to the injectors or carburettor,etc then crank engine. if pump is good, fuel will shoot out of the pump.then just replace fuel line
Fuel filter. Also use compressed air to blow out the fuel line to the fuel rail if FI equipped. If carburetor take the fuel line off at the carburetor before attempting to blow out the line.
It is located inside the fuel tank. You need to drop the entire tank down to replace. in the bottom of the gas tank.

The fuel sensor on a Hyundai Santa Fe is located in the fuel tank. The fuel tank will need to be removed. The fuel sensor is attached to the fuel line. Remove the fuel line. The sensor can then be removed. Reverse the process to install the new sensor.
