The compounds in Asthma inhalers (rescue type fast acting, long term multiple use, epi, steroids) are not clinically addictive in that they do not modify the body's function in such a way that normal function can only be achieved by chronic dosage -- the old definition of "addiction". These meds, however, have the potential to be habituating. Think of it this way: * You feel bad * You take a relatively fast-acting medication * you feel better This is the formula for a behaviorist's training pattern, isn't it? Note that, chocolate works well in this pattern too :} I'd hesitate to call this addictive, but habituating? Yes, potentially.

Marijuana is scientifically proven to be a bronchodilator, so as long as you are vaporizing, which doesn't deposit any combusted plant material or tar like smoking, then it will improve your asthma and could be used in place of a fast acting inhaler.

Do all asthma inhalers contain sulfa?

If you are allergic to sulfa in some antibiotics, it's also important to know whether your asthma inhaler contains sulfa. Sulfa is NOT in all asthma inhalers. You can identify which inhalers have sulfa by looking at the ingredient leaflet for sulfate or any phrase using that word. Albuterol is one inhaler that contains sulfate. Make sure your physicians and pharmacist know you are allergic to drugs containing sulfa or sulfates.

Can you drink alcohol while on clenil inhaler?

No you must not drink alcohol while using this inhaler. (If you are teetotal don't use it) 9mg per dose ( approx it could actually be more ) adds up to 144mp alcohol in the blood, for an adult using it at recommended 16 doses per day, will take you over the drink-drive limit in the UK. Also be aware this inhaler has addiction risks. Alcohol is in any form, addictive any so called benefits to your asthma is wasted if you end up with an addiction. Personally I'd give the inhaler back to the chemist & tell the GP/Asthma nurse to stuff it.

How can you stop your asthma attack if you do not have any more medicine?

I have asthma myself and if I don't have a rescue inhaler or pills, I try my best to breathe slowly and deeply. If that doesn't work, I sip [not drink quicky] ice cold water. This my not be the best answer, but that's what I do and it turns out okay.

Will clover honey help with an asthma cough?

No. Asthma is a disease that affects the lungs, not the throat. Only medication can help with asthma. Go to your doctor and he/she should prescribe medications for your asthma both for preventing it and for whenever your asthma flares up, such as a quick relief inhaler and a breathing machine for use with prescribed medication(s). Never take more than the prescribed dose on any medication. If your asthma symptoms persist or get worse, go to the emergency room or call 911 immediately.
