when my 1986 w-250 turn signal switch went out the brake lights quit working.
You have to remove the steering wheel to get to it.
possibly a bad brake switch located on the brake pedal assy
The turn signal lever is the dimmer switch. You either pull it back or push it in. but also the dimmer switch its self is in the steering column u have to take the steering wheel off to replace
Left side of transmission, between pan and shift linkage.
NO The 2000 dodge rims are alittle big than the 1986 .
Driver side of the transmission, just above the oil pan.
remove the steering wheel with special tools and then the turn signal arm and switch assembly plate to expose the ignition switch lock bolt use some fingernail polish to mark the positions of anything you remove.
Not easily. The mounts are different, the manifolds will not interchange, 1986 is carbureted, etc
Not too hard. It's on the column under the steering wheel. It's part of your turn signal switch. remove the wheel with a puller, remove the screws, unhook the wires and pull the switch out. Reverse the process to put it back together.
Dodge Dakota was created in 1986.
Most likely your combination headlight and turn signal switch is bad.
