Yes, there is a weep hole near the bearing on the water pump. When the seal goes bad, or when the bearing has to much play it in, it will start leaking fluid there.
There is a little screw on top of the thermostat cover located near the throttle body. Losen the screw and while filling and leave it lose until after you start the car. Make sure it is lose enough to let water flow out of the little hole in the side. After you start the car wait until there is a constant flow of coolent coming out of the hole then tighten gently. What year is it? If it's a 97-04 Regal, the problem lies withing the instrument panel board and must be refurbished. DO NOT try to replace the odometer or get a whole new one. I assume you want to change out the water pump and would like to know if you can do it without draining the radiator. You will lose approximately all the coolant in the radiator reservoir when you remove the radiator hose from the water pump. If the coolant is in good, clean condition, it might be wise to drain the radiator into a container and re-use the coolant.

May be burning it slowly enough not to emit smoke Is the underside of the car oily wet looking? It maybe a oil pan gasket, some will not leak until on the highway. Look on the back end of car for oil spots.
Check to see if the coolant fan is running. With the engine hot, and running, open the hood and see if the fan is turning. If it's not, then either the fan,temp sensor, relay or wiring is bad.
