It is important in asking questions about the natural world not to confuse science and faith. The biblical story of Noah is a story of faith, but also a story of events that never really happened. We are not really all descendants of Noah.

The various different races are, in part, an adaptation to different environmental challenges, and occurred over a period far longer than the mere three thousand years since the biblical story of Noah. For example, black skin gave protection against the harsh sun of Africa, but left humans with a vitamin D deficiency in the cold of Europe, especially when almost entirely covered against the cold. Caucasians evolved pale skin that made the best use of the weak sunlight to produce vitamin D, and long nasal passages that warmed the cold air before it reached the chest. Ideally, this would result in fair-skinned blonds in northern Europe and slightly darker people in southern Europe, but the migrations of history and inter-marriages have resulted in a fascinating mix of races.

God created the designs of all the genetic codes and makeup of all the future races and colors of mankind within Adam in the beginning. It was through the process of procreation that these colors and racial traits began to emerge in their children. By the time of Noah's generation... his three sons [combined with the women with whom they would produce and rear their children] had begun to display the three main races of mankind: Ham, Negro; Shem, Caucasian; and Japheth, Oriental. And it was these three representative races, that sprang from Adam, from which further variations of race, color and nationalities emerged in the world with the passing of time and the generations of men.

In His prayer to His Father in John 17... Jesus tells Him: "...THY WORD IS TRUTH." (John 17:17)

Therefore... the Genesis account of the beginnings and creation of mankind [which is part of God's Word]... while possibly stylized in its literary form; along with other books of The Bible -- is TRUE.

The Bible is indeed a book of "Faith"... to be "believed" or "not believed" as every man chooses. But, then... that's true of everything else in our lives. Men have always been selective in what they have chosen to believe. And belief [in the Bible, in science, your fellow man, or anything else] will always be a matter of placing your "Faith" somewhere... in something... or someone.

Science can be just as unfathomable and just as much of a mystery to man as the biblical account at times. Nor are the two necessarily at odds with each other... depending upon how one approaches them [in faith or doubt].

The Bible [the Truth of God] reveals that the world was repopulated by the descendants of Noah. He was a very REAL man who lived in his very REAL particularly violent and godless generation. The account of which Jesus Christ Himself verifies for us as destined to repeat itself at the time of the end of God's plan:

"But as the days of Noe were, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be... until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall the coming of the Son of Man be." (Matt.24:37-39)

The Bible [the Truth] tells us that Jesus Christ was the Almighty Creator God of the Old Testament [see John 1:3] who MADE ADAM [with all the genetic variations, internal organ designs, the amazing pressurized circulatory system, etc., that went into him]... and who commanded Noah to build the ark. So, His statement, above, is not "hearsay" testimony... but a "First-Person" account of the way it Truly was, and prophecy as to how it shall be.

God designed and created the mystery [to man's finite mind] of DNA... and all the other fascinating "designs" throughout creation [you can't have "design" without a "Designer"]. All the variations of the races and colors of mankind were present in Adam at creation... and had begun to be displayed as evidence in the world through the emergence of the three distinct races of Noah's sons.

God's Word is Truth. Believe the Truth... or don't.
