If you're not hungry a lot anymore due to stress and loss and some days just live on a sandwich or something can you get really ill or maybe even die?

You can get ill yes. If you continue to starve yourself, you will eventually find yourself exhausted as the body eats away at the muscle fibres for energy as you are not providing it with fat anymore. It would appear you may be depressed. Please see you GP, who can prescribe some antidepressants & grief counselling. Or ring The Samaritans. There is no need to suffer alone. Please get help asap.
