Well from a boys prospective seeing as i am a boy he may feel the same way. Pay extra attention to the way he does things like the way he greets you, where he puts his hand after holding the door for you, acts around you. Or Another way of telling if he feels the same is by gathering your courage and asking preferably away from his friends so he won't have the "bad-ass-no-emotions" attitude. If he really is a close friend whichever way works or maybe neither but a different if he isn't interested he will probally let you know in a kind way and still wish to be friends.
