If you are 16 and your mother is constantly yelling insults and does not provide any emotional support and you pay for most of your food and clothing can you leave?

Is your mother yelling insults because you are in an heated argument and cant come to a conclusion constantly or just because she can and hates you 1001%? Because its totally normal if you guys are having heated arguments constantly at your age. if this is true then seek help by talking to her VERY calmly when your not mad at her and she's not mad at you. If she is still ticked off after arguments and needs time to cool down just wait for the appropriate time. Still having problems?? It would be considered running away from home. Instead go to some trusted adults and see if they would be willing to talk your mom to go get help for her abusive and neglective ways. If not then see if there is another family member that would be able to take you in until your mom can get help. This is tought. Im sorry that you are being treated badly. No one deserves that. Dont feel you dont have anyone there is someone, whether from family, school, church or Department of Children and Family Services that can and will help you. Reach out and speak out. Good luck. You may be able to become emancipated, depending on the state you live in. One of the key points is to be able to show that you can take care of yourself without any help from the parent. You can leave, or not. You have to decide if you are better off for the next couple of years so you can finish high school, or if you can support yourself now. Parents unfortunately do not have to provide emotional support since there is no way to measure that. Do the best you can to take care of your responsibilities at school and within the household and let the rest go. It is just noise, and I hope you have good friends to talk to. If it is also physical abuse and/or is intense verbal abuse, then you need help to decide. I had a mother like this, and over the years of high school made my plans, got a job and applied to college. I also had younger siblings to "mother". It worked out.
