I would think that you could but for it to really count you should have someone else like a Talent Scout or Supervisor recommended you for Premier Answerer. Because it would be more appropriate and right to have someone else recommend you. And also you probably would be more likely to get the premier answerer designation.
Not really.
No you won't get punished. Because no one can tell who you recommended.
The numbers beside the usernames are Trust Points. Trust Points are points given by other contributors who think a contributor has done an outstanding job on WikiAnswers. The amount of points is the amount of people who trust you and your contributions. There should be a 'recommend' button by your name if you made the last edit in an answer. You can recommend yourself once. To advance your Trust Points, just make high-quality answers and/or contributions to WikiAnswers and someone is bound to trust you.
Yes. For your information, the site that you are posting this question IS WikiAnswers. Sometimes, it is true that WikiAnswers' answers are not true. However, most of the answers are true. First of all, they're called TRUST points. When someone answers/edits a question, scroll down and hit "recommend user". You can only recommend a user once. You can also recommend yourself... Once!
There is nothing against that. One Supervisor once said "We can't trust you if you can't trust yourself".
You have to remember that WikiAnswers gets the answers to your questions through contributors, like yourself. So it depends really on when the contributors are on, and who sees your question. If there are plenty of people who know the answer the more likely it would be answered more quickly. Like if it is a not much asked question that probably not many people know off hand, it can take time for a contributor to research the question the find the answer. But it also depends what time of day it is for a contributor.
Answers.com|WikiAnswers is a fast-growing site. We have many new contributors registering daily, which means one could possibly go unnoticed for a while. If and when this happens, please contact others, introduce yourself, and just join in the all the action and fun on the site. We have a Community Outreach program whose members would love to be able to greet every new contributor to the site, but it simply isn't possible. If we don't come to you, please come to us! We love meeting our new contributors!
If you feel a contributor would make a good addition to TIP, please let us know. You can either email at TIP@WikiAnswers.com or send a message to the TIP Supervisors. Please do not invite the contributor to TIP yourself. They may turn out to be unsuitable or they may be on a blacklist which only the TIP staff and community assistants have access to.
