No, you automatically win the game. There's no summoning involved, and 'Exodia the Forbidden One' itself does nothing if on the field.

Yes... you can Special Summon Exodia the Forbidden One by discarding him and using Monster Reborn, but you will not automatically win the duel. Exodia's effect will only work when it and the other four pieces of Exodia are in your hand.

The Winged Dragon of Ra is illegal to summon in a duel but if you were gonna play illegally than Ra would probabaly be easier to summon unless of course your choose the cards in your hand and you wind up with Exodia on your first turn!!! It is a very good question because the winged dragon of Ra is extremely powerful just as Exodia is. However Exodia is pretty much stronger because it is so hard to get the five pieces of exodia in your hand. For example. You are allowed so summon Ra by sacrificing 3 monsters OR without a sacrifice but for Exodia it is very hard because you need to draw the five pieces and when you do get them it will be worth the wait. EXODIA IS BETTER but the bad thing with ra is its attack points are the total of the 2 monsters used to sacrifice for it so if its spacial summoned its completely useless

(not being ignorant).3. because if all three sets (or just one) are in your graveyard then you can activate counteract with exodia and you can Sp summon exodia necross which is like invincible except if someone brings back any of the five pieces the hes dead
