Not necessarily. Girls are a bit more complicated than guys, even if they don't initially fancy you they can grow to. Don't be desperate, don't let her know - just be funny and attentive and nice.

If she doesn't, then that sucks for her because you will find someone else. Most guys try flowers and chocolates. To be completely honest with you, I'm a girl, and i don't care about any of that stuff. Sure, it's flattering, and every woman is different. But you can never truly get someone to care about you, they just care... Of course you should be a nice, respectful person. That will score you some points too :)
