1000 cal a day is an impossibly low figure. If you were to try that you would most probably lose your health faster than you lost your weight. And slim but sick isn't much of an improvement. At 14 your recommended daily intake is about 1800 - 2000 cal, so start by seeing if you're currently currently overeating. Since you're still growing dieting is trickier than for adults, as you are more at risk if you don't get all your nutrients. See what happens if you shoot for 1800 cals and one hour of exercise each day for a month first.

Remember that what's made you overweight is an unhealthy lifestyle. Going on a diet and then going back to your previous lifestyle will simply put that weight back on again. What you need to do to be successful in your weightloss is to find a new and healthier lifestyle, but it has to be one that you can hang on to.

You've probably spent years putting the weight on, so expect to spend some time losing them too. For adults losing 2-3 pounds/week is a good target, but as you're probably not fully grown yet it becomes trickier. For you it'd probably be more accurate to measure weight, waist and length to keep track of what's happening. If your weight remains the same while you are growing taller that'd also lower your BMI.
