The typical course load for freshman in college is twelve units per semester. At three units per course that comes out to four courses per semester. Of course there could be a four unit course and then the course load would be thirteen.
I am not clear if you are asking about a college math class or high school math class. If it is college you take it for one semester. Some math classes are divided into two parts and you take one the first semester and then the second half the next semester. If this is high school it could be for the entire year.
In order to properly answer this question I would need to know how many credits you already have that put you at the 2.73 If you are in your freshman year the chances are better at reaching your target goal.
if you are in honors math you take geometry your freshman year, and if not your sophmore year. the order goes per-algebra, algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, pre calculas, and then calculas (calculas is only taken for AP classes, for seniors that want to take it. Calculas counts for a college credit.)
