Although you did not give any of your symptoms other than that you had a bacterial infection that was treated with antibiotics. A very common condition diagnosed as Bacterial Vaginosis is most likely what caused the infection. Although BV can cause vaginal infections, they are not always present. Bacterial Vaginosis is caused by a decrease in Lactobacillus bacteria, therefore, anaerobic bacteria are able to colonize and grow disrupting the vagina's natural ecology. Restoring dominance to Lactobacilli will eventually correct the problem. Also, lowering the pH of the vaginal area < 4.5 minimizes anaerobic bacteria growth. Due to the possibly of an infection, antibiotics will be prescribed with an antibiotic ointment or the physician may choose only monotherapy depending on the patient. Taking oral Probiotics containing beneficial bacteria of the Lactobacillus species, which you can find at any pharmacy, may help to prevent BV from returning. RepHesh Gel is one product that restores the vaginal pH decreasing the risk of BV returning and should relief some symptoms. The key here is proper maintenance of the vulva. Discuss with your doctor or PCP about options and/or treatment plans, whether it be medicinal, holistic, or a combination of both if your condition is constantly returning. Even if your do not get bacterial or yeast infections often, know how to prevent or at least lessen the risk of developing BV again. Just look up Bacterial Vaginosis on a search engine. I'm not a doctor, but I'd say you are nothing out of the norm. Let me know if this helped any. I gave it my best shot.

Can your period stop a bladder infection?

The answer to this is no. I had a bladder infection while I was on holiday last year, even though I was on my period, the infection still remains and will not go away unless you take antibiotics which will be prescribed by your GP.

Can antibiotics affect your period even when you are not on birth control?

Yes it can because you are fighting off an infection and the antibiotics put your Ph levels off. Once you are over your bout of antibiotics (approx. 2 - 3 days after) you'll get back to normal. Meanwhile eat Cultured Yogurt which helps balance the Ph level, settle the tummy and also stop diarrhea if the certain individual reacts to antibiotics in this way.Yes. They often make your period early, although in some cases they make it late or just not arrive at all

If I've had bladder infections and currently have a yeast infection is it possible that this caused a missed period?

No, a bladder infection won't cause a late or missed period. But antibiotics, which are usually given for a bladder infection, can cause the pill not be as effective. If you are late or missed a period you should see a doctor for a pregnancy test. Or take a home test. Anytime you are on antibiotics, you need to use a back up method of birth control.

Can antibiotics stop your period?

No, antibiotics definitely cannot stop your period. The only known possible way to do is is by taking contraceptive pills, or getting a hysterectomy

I had a UTI infection which was treated with medication then i got my period which was heavy followed by pinkish brown spotting and developed a yeast infection also what does this mean?

Yeast are normal inhabitants of the vagina, but they are kept in check by the bacterial population of the vagina. The antibiotics for the UTI killed these normal helpful bacteria also, so the yeast grew out of control. Use an anti-fungal like clotrimazole for the yeast. The heavy period was probably just one of those once-in-a-while ones that within the normal variation, nothing to worry about unless it keeps happening.

What does it mean if your period smells like a fart?

You are late for your period but if had antibiotics to get rid of a water infection could this be the reason?

you could be pregnant, as antibiotics affect the way birth control works. take an over the counter pregnancy test. if it is confirmed, see your doctor for prenatal care. if your period is evenlater than 2 weeks, you may want to see your doctor because there could be other underlying conditions

Could you be pregnant if you spot for 3 days bleed 1 day then back to spotting?

went to docs, got bloods done and was given antibiotics for pelvic infection.
