The time frame in which you must be paid will be described in the settlement agreement.
for ever
A lawsuit cash advance is not much different from getting a payday advance at a check cashing place. You find a lender who does lawsuit cash advances and you accept a loan for the projected amount of your settlement. This loan comes with an interest rate, and these can sometimes be quite high. By the time you pay it back you will have less money than you would if you wait for your settlement check. In order to receive a lawsuit cash advance you must first have the representation of a lawyer and second an attorney must have filed a lawsuit on your behalf. If your case looks good you may qualify for a lawsuit cash advance at that time.
Contact the court where you think they filed the lawsuit. Remember that it is the responsibility of the plaintiff (person suing) to serve you with notice of the lawsuit. Their lawsuit will be dismissed if they don't give proper notice.
i was told they will not issue the second check until late october or early november when can we expect the second check
I received a settlement notice around September or August. I was about vacation pay the notice told me that my share of the settlement will be $300. Still haven't received that check yet though :(

Usually, a lawyer only "holds" it for as long as it takes to clear in his/her bank account. When a settlement is awarded in a lawsuit, the defendants who must pay have a specified amount of time to produce that money to your lawyer. In the case of my lawsuit, the people I sued had 90 days to send the check to my lawyer...who, then, had to wait for the check to clear in her account...then, she wrote a check to me for the settlement amount (minus attorneys' fees)...whereas, I had to wait for the check to clear in my own bank account. All in all, I was able to access my money around four months after we settled. Three to four months is indeed the average time for a settlement to actually be "settled" in connection with restitution
Yes, you still owe the money. Yes, if the cashiers check expired the money is still available in that account so all you will need to do is have another cashiers check cut.
Yes, a lawsuit settlement can impact your Social Security Disability payments. If the settlement amount exceeds the resource limit set by the Social Security Administration, it could potentially affect your eligibility for benefits or the amount you receive. It is important to report any changes in income or assets to the SSA.
