No. Emos are a youth subculture with a specific style of dress and music. They are not all suicidal or depressed, nor is everyone who is suicidal or depressed an emo. The two things getting muddled are causing a significant problem because people who are genuinely depressed may not confess because they do not want to get labelled emo.

That is just a stereotype, and unfortunately, many people think that's what emo is. You can be emo and be happy and funny and nice.
