The majority of phone companies will usually offer you a 'free' upgrade within the final month of your contract. They do this for two reasons... (1) they keep you as a customer and (2) they tie you into another lengthy term (usually at least 12 months). If you're happy with your phone - you will usually get a much cheaper monthly tariff by keeping it - rather than getting a new phone. Every new 'free' phone you get is paid for - by a higher monthly payment !
I have had the same phone for a few years - when I first got it (3 Mobile) - I was paying £12 a month on an 18-month contract. When I renewed my contract (for 12 months) - they dropped my monthly payment to four pounds just because I decided to keep the phone !

Buy a verizon phone
how do i switch my reachoutwireless number to a verizon phone
I am 99% percent sure you can only upgrade your phone 1 WEEK before the contract is up
If you are on a contract with a phone company you can get a free upgrade if you are on contract with them, you just need to talk to Verizon about free Verizon phones while on contract.
Here's a Verizon phone with no contract: http://www.buy.com/specialty_store_6/verizon-cell-phones-with-no-contracts/67266.html . You'll need to buy service separately,
Buying the phone from Verizon can save you money, time, and effort. Verizon has excellent prices on mobile phones, and it's easier to buy the phone with a contract than to buy the phone and contract separately.
No, AT&T uses GSM, and Verizon uses CDMA. The two technologies are not compatible.
People that have smartphones with Verizon may have no contract they just buy the smart phone in a very expensive price but with no contract. Just go to the Verizon website and see the plans.
No, T-Mobile is GSM and Verizon is CDMA so you can't switch between those two networks. Unlocked T-Mobile can be used on AT&T though.
