It depends on how close to the filter the waterfall is. Koi ponds can sometimes do OK with just a good UV lamp on the recirculation line from the filter to control algae.

If you use an aerator are the fishes safe?

No. All an aerator does is stir up the water and break the meniscus a little. If you drive a filter with the air, then you will be doing the water some good once the filter is cycled.

How do you reduce foam in salt water hot tub?

The bubbles in a Jacuzzi (unless you are pouring detergent into it as a prank) is not the greatest thing to be getting into. The bubbles you are see is the dead skin particles from previous people who have been in the tub prior to cleaning. The bubbles will also contain hair from various parts of the body if you catch my meaning. The best way is to simply clean and drain your tub. More and more of your newer models of Jacuzzi (and off branded) are coming with an optional Ozonator. The Ozonator is (simply put) like the filter on a yard pool. Water is sucked into the Ozonator and is filtered removing all the bad stuff you have been swimming in. You might check to see if you can find an external Ozonator with someone like Spadepot or some other company online, if your model does not support it.

What is included in a waterfall kit?

Most waterfall kits include a water pump, weir, tubing, PVC, liner, and filter media. Some waterfall kits include the pond container. An above-ground waterfall kit comes all in one piece and only needs you to attach a hose.

What does aerators do in a fish tank?

The aerator in a fish tank pushes air into the water. Some of the oxygen from the air stays in the water so that the fish in the aquarium can breath it. Even though fish live in the water, they still need oxygen to live. When they pass the water through their gills, the oxygen in the water is taken into the fish's blood stream.

What is an aerator?

An aerator is a way of introducing air into some process or other. Probably the most common is in your home faucet. Instead of a stream of "solid" water, your faucet probably has a little collar with a fine mesh grid that breaks up that solid stream of water and introduces air into it. You still get the same water pressure, but the actual volume is reduced, so you save water that way. But there are many forms of aeration. If you have a giant vat of taffy or bread dough, there are probably giant paddles to stir it around to fold air into the mixture. You can find aerators in fish tanks to. My fish tank has an aerator pump, that can oxygenate 342 gallons of water an hour and filter it. When the aeration valve is off it can pump and filter 400 gallons of water, due to the air introduced into the stream of water is off and not displacing the other 58 gallons of water. An Aerator is also a tool used to aerate your lawn. This type of machine will make holes in your lawn and leave cores. It is called and aerator because it makes it easier for air and water to access the soil roots. You also have aerators that can be used for making wine
