After you reinstall and tighten the gas cap, the light should go off after a few driving cyles if this is what caused the light to come on.
Go to Autozone... they have a scanner that can reset the lite.
Simply disconnect your battery. This will reset the check engine light. If it wasn't the gas cap causing the error or if the cap is faulty, it will come back on. In that case you'll need to determine the code that is causing the light to come on. Some vehicles can flash the code using one of the lights on the dash. First you have to initiate it by turning the ignition switch on the off in a certain sequence. Unfortunately, I don't know if this works with Camry's.
the last guy is correct but you cant make the code flash by turning the key. its obdII and there is no way to get a code without a scantool.
It should, but it's better if you confirm with a dealer.
Can you replace your 2000 Camry CE 4-cylinder engine with a 1997 Camry engine?"
Sorry, it has to be done by the dealer or you need to buy the gauge yourself. My Suggestion: Remove battery terminal (pos or neg, doesnt matter) leave for 10 min, reconnect, see if gone
That's impossible to answer without knowing the year of your Camry and whether you have a 4 or 6 cylinder engine. I suggest you visit an engine rebuilder website such as engineandtransmissionworld.com. Enter the appropriate information and get a quote. There are quite a few rebuilders, maybe one where you live so get multiple quotes. You'll save some money if you can install the engine yourself but usually the warranty will be much shorter.
There is no way to know without tearing the engine apart.
