Yes, of course you can as long as you do a minimum of 30 minutes a week exercise. Even if its just walking 5 minutes a day. Make sure you cut down healthy eg. don't take to much iron or calcium or vitamin c out of your diet because the consequences could make you ill.

You will need to cut down on unhealthy foods with saturated or trans fats, and increase healthy foods such as fruits, veggies, and whole grains. Of course, starting or increasing a workout program is also key to losing weight as well as staying healthy.

You do need nutrients to grow but you can stay away from polyunsaturated fats eat plenty of vegetables, white meat such as chicken but not the skin of chicken it is full of fat.

Why not visit your local Gym you don't need to join they should be able to tell you how to eat in a balanced way.

On average the body need 2000 calories a day after that the body stores the extra calories.

Exercise is important even an exercise bike in your own home it better than no exercise.
