DO NOT DO THIS ON A MODERN CAR.....You can destroy the ECM (the engine control computer or electronic dash.
Back in the days before cars had computers in them it was a common test to see if you had a bad alternatorby pulling the battery cable off a running car. If the car died then the alternator was bad. If the car stayed running then the alt was OK.
Nothing happens to the vehicle if you connect the negative side first. But is is safer to connect the positive side first. Reason If the negative side is already connected and you put the positive side on you take a chance of touching a part of the body or radiator with your wrench while tightening it, causing the positive side to ground out. If your negative side is not connected yet and you touch the wrench to the body while tighting the positive side nothing will happen. So installing the positive side first reduces the chance of shorting the battery out which could cause the battery to explode.
just unblot the top corner brace(4 bolts, 2 fender side and 2 front window side), which is over the battery, then just disconnect the positive and negative post and take the battery out!
Take the hot (red/positive +) side jumper clip and clip it to the red battery screw at the battery. Take the Left (black/negative - ) side Jumper clip and clip it to the big bolt attached to the engine (or any othe negative metal connection). On the other car giving you a boost you can do the same connection or just connect to both battery positive and negative top or side connections.
take a small wrench and undo the positive and negative battery cables from the posts. take the old battery out and put the new one in place of the old one, and reconnect the positive to the positive post and the negative to negative.
If the pokewalker gets wet I will try and take the battery out and dry it as much as i can, I am not that positive it will still work but hopefully it will.
take out the battery first. if you still cant do it, take out the bumper then the headlights and that's only your last resort.
1. Take the negative cable end loose first, then the positive (red ) side. 2. Remove the hold down. 3. Lift the cover off. 4. Remove the battery. When installing the new battery put the positive post on first.
First take your volt meter and set it to DC volts and place the red terminal on the positive (+) side of your battery and the black terminal on the negative (-) side of the battery and you should be getting at least 12 volts DC if you are seeing any less than 12 you most likely have a weak battery
it on the right side of the battery if you looking at it from the front. you have to take off the air intake to reach it. there are two bolts the top one is a 12 and the bottem is a 14 and pretty long. after you take these out follow the cable from the positive side of the battery to the starter abd unhook it from the starter.
battery for Oldsmobile alero?dude ...The battery is located under the hood. just take out one bolt that hold the battery and take the two terminal cable out which is positive and negative.make sure loosen up the negative first just for safe?????????????////// I think the battery is hidden inside your driver side fender
take the speaker out and run 2 wires from the speaker one on positive side and one on the negative side the use a 9volt battery and touch one wire to each side the speaker should make a popping sound moving either up or down depending on which wire you have where. if you touch the positive wire on the positive side of the battery it should move out and if reverse should move in. if it does not do anything the speaker is blown.
undo the clamps and take it out. DO NOT MIX UP WHICH SIDE IT IS!!! if u do and u put the clamps on the wrong side, it will explode and acid with get all over u. scarring u for life. seriously. red is positive black is negative..the battery of course. read the battery to get it right
