It is not essential to have GCSE Media to be able to study A Level Media however it is a help. However, as long as you have English Language and/or English Literature at GCSE you shall be fine.
Personally, I took A Level Media studies without having a GCSE in the subject and I love it! It's a little tough at the start but once you get going everything will fall into place.
I recommend doing a little research into the subject and perhaps talk to the subject tutor to see if it's something your really interested in.
Best of Luck!
Each university is different but a minimum of 9 GCSE's at A* grade, as well as A level Chemistry, Biology & Maths or English at grade A / A*, general or social studies, Art & design, Drama/Media or other none related A levels are NOT accepted

Most 6th forms/colleges require that you have that GCSE at C or above. Also, it is very hard to do A Level Music without GCSE Music.
to be honest, in film directing you dont need any specific gcse's, you just need to try your best to get high gcse's (e.g *A, A, B) because that will get you futher.
What level gcse maths English language science and technical subject do you need to become an architect?"
To become a Care Assistant you need Core GCSE's (Maths, English and Science) and in some cases you must have an NVQ Level 1 in Care.
you will need to take English-media-art and design and a language x x
If by RS you mean Religious Studies, it completely depends on what career you want to pursue. For example, if you wanted to do something in medicine you would need chemistry more or if you wanted to become a sociologist (someone who studies society to predict the future of society) then you would need religious studies. However, as it is only a GCSE and not an A level then i would say Chemistry is better, as it allows you more of a choice of what career you could go into. Hoped this helped :) Jake Doran.
