No. He'll just rebel. -DJ Craig Yes, if he is allowed to get away with it now he'll try it again later in life. Spank him for failing, and he'll remember his sore backside next time a test comes around Find out, with the help of the school, WHY his grades are poor. Punishing a child for having learning difficulties is child abuse. =Answer= It would be wise to have your family doctor give your son a complete physical. He could have a learning disibility or, his hearing or eyesight is not good. My nephew was not doing well in school. Even at home his parents would talk to him and he appeared to ignore them. One day their grandmother was over and she purposely dropped a heavy book behind him. He didn't flinch! They took him to the doctor and found out that he had ear problems and he had to wear plastic tubes in his ears for several weeks. Once the tubes came out he could hear and his grades went up. I don't believe in punishing a child that gets poor grades as they have enough peer pressure to deal with as is. Try a tutor (some students that get excellent grades will help out) or, get a professional tutor to help your child. By yelling, screaming, threatening you will only upset the child and yourself. What many people don't realize (even some teachers) is that some children learn well by listening and some children learn by seeing. In other words it's best to find out what way your child learns. Give your child a test and ask them ten questions and let them answer it. If you have asked where is the United States on the world map?" Some children can tell you while you may have to teach your child by showing them in an Atlas or on a world globe. Good luck!
