If your parents are "too strict", I wouldn't recommend you telling them they are.. Even the nicest of ways could be offensive to them. But of course - only you know your parents. Tell them as nice as possible (if you have too). Good luck!
It's both.
Authoritarian family is a type of family structure where parents have strict control over their children, often using punishment and rules to enforce obedience. In this type of family, there is little room for discussion or negotiation, and children are expected to follow the rules set by their parents without question. This can lead to a lack of independence and autonomy in children as they grow up.
They are very protective. Don't worry, parents are strict on guys too.
Way too strict and don't let their children (especially daughters) do anything.
Yes, but they can sometimes be too strict and demanding.
Invite them to your place.
They're afraid you'll sneak out of the house to do bad things. Usually, parents are strict because they don't trust their children not to misbehave.
You have to be honest with them. They may not like it, but you can tell them you feel like a prisoner in their home.
Sometimes, but it's worse if parents are BOTH!
Some of them are, and they wonder why their children don't talk to them when they reach adulthood.
I call it more overprotective than strict. Some parents forget that their main job is to prepare their children for the outside world and what to do if something happens to them. Unfortunately, some parents "cling" to their children and can't let go out of fear of losing them.
