Its going to be hard, but you need to not yell at her in a load voice that still gets to me 2 years later. Then don't ever raise your hands at her even though you say you would never hit her. The raising of the hands is abusive enough. EARN HER TRUST! that's the most important thing to do, but it will be the hardest.
You can help her heal by restoring her trust and the only way to do it is by NOT being abusive to her.
