Yes, you can. There is a higher chance for you to get Type 1 Diabetes wherein it is (mostly) genetically transmitted by your parents to their offspring. Your father may have it too, he just doesn't know it yet. Better have him check earlier, just to be safe.

No you can not. Because your heath is not the same as your grandfathers. Diabetes is not a catch-able disase meaning you cant catch it if someone around you has it. you get diabetes from eating to much sugar. its not a spreadable virus like H1N1 is.

It's quite rare because if your mum or dad had it then there's a ten percent chance of getting it but if it's ur grandma it's about two percent trust me ima diabetic type one lol I hope this helps you
