A tampon should not be slipping out - if used correctly the tampon should sit above the narroest part of the vaginal canal, both this and vaginal muscle tone will keep the tampon in place - if tampons are slipping out you need to discuss this with your doctor.

If tampons dont work for you then you should consider using pads or other similar external options like period underwear, belts or interlabial pads, you may also still be able to use internal options like sponges, soft tampons, softcups or menstrual cups.

How many times should a girl change her tampon?

It depends on her individual needs. Tampons need to be changed at least every 4-6 hours, or sooner if the tampon leaks before then - women should also alternate with pads as often as possible, or at very least use pads overnight rather than tampons.

Can you see the blood from your period when you are swimming in the sea?

When should you know to take your tampon out?

Tampons need to be changed every 4-6 hours. If your tampon leaks then you remove the tampon before this time, and if the tampon leaks within 1-2 hours you may want to use the next absorbency up. Remember you change absorbency as flow changes, if the tampon isn't saturated in blood after 4-6 hours you need to use lower absorbency or if already using lowest absorbency you need to switch to pads as your flow is too light for tampons. Many women use pads or pantiliners as back-up, especially when first using tampons.

What shouls you were when you sleep tampons or pads?

Do not use tampons overnight while sleeping.Tampons need to be changed every 4-6 hours, which you can't do while sleeping. When laying down less blood flows into the tampon, so it's like wearing higher absorbency. You should alternate with pads to allow vaginal cleaning, overnight is most convenient for this.

Is it bad when your tampon string gets bloody but your tampon is only a little bloody?

Your tampon should be completely saturated with blood after 4-6 hours - if the tampon is dry when removing then you need to use a lower absorbency or switch to pads. If the string is getting blood on it some may be from blood lingering in the vaginal canal before tampon insertion, but it may also be that blood is simply bypassing the tampon. Try different TYPES (not just brands) of tampon, you may also want to consider menstrual cups which don't leak.

Can a woman be spotting if her tampon has something on it every time she changes it?

Yes, spotting is light bleeding and it will show on a tampon. If the tampon isn't saturated in blood after 4-6 hours then you should be using lowest absorbency or if already using lowest absorbency you need to switch to pads as your flow is too light to be using tampons.
