Tampons do not hurt at all and never get stuck. Do not use them until you have experienced you're periods for a little while. For now, use pads with wings if your flow is heavy. If not, just use normal pads.
Tampons are not recommended to pre-teens or teens due to higher risks of TSS, it's recommended that you use pads and if you need to use internal options use menstrual cups which are safer. Menstrual cups are not only safer but also a lot more convenient for swimming as unlike tampons they can be worn when flow is light, don't increase cramps, nothing shows externally, don't absorb water, and don't leak like tampons. Internal menstrual products cannot get stuck inside your vagina - if you need more information on tampons and pads just look online.
