Chevy has a newer minivan called the Uplander which replaced the Venture model. The safety of this vehicle is acceptable but without the optional air bags, it has a Poor side crash test rating. If safety is a priority for you, I would recommend a Kia Sedona for its five star rating received from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
