In 2012 will there be a zombie attack?

In Iowa City last year a man certainly thought so. He observed someone walk into the restaurant he was at, and immediately attacked him, while yelling "Zombie!".

After breaking the alleged Zombies nose, he ran out the back door.

No, zombies will not attack in 2012 nor any other year unless science gives us a way to bring the dead back to life, which is highly unlikely. There will be no zombie attack.

Although, on the lighter side, 2012 would be a good year for it since the ancient Mayan calendar predicts a period of unrest leading into that year, and then abruptly ends. I think Zombies, Aliens, Government Conspiracies, and all sorts of other B movie plots are a more interesting option than the more mundane and scarier options we have as to what could cause world war three or the end of the world. ... Plus, I overheard the zombies planning it.

Being a little more legitimate even though the Mayan calender predicts this, it's still less likely than most of the other predictions of the worlds end. (Note they have been moving the end of the world every six years 2000 they predicted the computers to crash being unable to deal with the new millennium, 2006 another prediction was made, now 2012 with the many predictions from the dead rising to asteroids to nuclear fallout from a third world war). Nonetheless it's still unlikely to happen.

True. More likely it will be giant walking plants, like in Day of the Triffids. Then at least there are no "former human" ethical concerns. I wonder if there is a society for the ethical treatment of giant man-eating plants though...
