In Gimp 2 when you preview your gif it looks fine but when you save it and then look at it again it doesnt look the same?

The preview problem is due to the browser/file explorer not having the code to make thumbnails from the .png. The "any other program" problem sounds weird- if you cannot open the .png in MS Paint, IrfanView, GIMP or anything else then the .pngs are corrupt.
