drag them to trash, empty trash
If you have send to the trash some files, but you didn't do "Empty trash" the files continue in your drive althoght you can't see them. Try to connect your pen and you to the trash and empty it!!!
TRash Can
trash =) or shift+delete
To remove a .jpg file click on the files icon and drag it into the Trash icon in the Dock or right click on the files icon and select Move to Trash from the menu. Click and hold on the Trash icon and select Empty Trash to remove the .jpg from the Mac.
Put then in the trash bin
There is no such specific area on the disk. The files are simply marked as pending deletion where they are and added to the Trash list. When you tell the operating system to empty Trash it goes through the Trash list and changes the marks on the files in that list from pending deletion to deleted and removes them from the Trash list. If instead you tell the operating system to restore files from Trash it changes the marks back from pending deletion back to normal and removes them from the Trash list. The files themselves never move in this process and are still recorded in the directory they previously existed in (even after being marked deleted and becoming inaccessible to the operating system).
put it in the trash
Yes all you have to do if search under start for your trash can. (-:

It will usually delete files that have been sent to the trash rather than actually deleted.
The hard drive does normally. Unless you are running a live CD of a Linux distro from say a flash drive, then those files are stored on the flash drive if you decide to save. If you are running a live CD from the cdrom then those files are only saved if you save them manually to another partition on the hard drive.
