Like Popuri and Karen they are only there on holiday. They will come back again next year and stay for a month, this will repeat every year.

No but some of the characters can visit you if you insert your game pak while playing Harvest Moon DS or Cute. But not Island of Happiness. You can only have Karen, Popuri, Dr. Trent and Cliff in Island of Happiness, in their corresponding seasons.
