In India why should a groom be elder to the bride and what are the advantages disadvantages if a groom is younger to the bride?

I'm from the USA. I can still make some general comments. The older a woman is the more likely her baby will suffer a birth defect. So women should have their children early in life. A man is expected to work and provide for his family. A younger man is less experienced and generally lower paid. Therefore a slightly older man is more prepared to provide for his family. The younger man may not be fully mature. The strain of providing for a family may make him want to go home and live with his mom or some other nonsense. The slightly older man should be better prepared to handle responsibilities. Naturally there are exceptions I married a woman 3 years older than me. We raised 3 boys without trouble. Women stop making babies some time in their late 40's. A young man marrying an older women therefore reduces the number of years that he may have children. He might consider this a disadvantage. Women live longer than men. A woman with an older husband will therefore probably have a longer widowhood. She probably will consider this a disadvantage but when you are young who thinks about such far off things?
