Ok used to be only legal in California now its illegal there too they say it distructs the other drivers i say don't look lol. Anyways its illegal everywhere now. The yellow color how ever can be used but is risky and you will have to argue with cop if used. yelllow color used by big 18 wheeler trucks so its not an emergancy vehicle color there for it can be used. As of other colors you can have any color on but it can only be on if you are parked, if you are on private road or on back road where speed limit is less then 25mph.
I got blue on my white celica driving around with it on everynight only got pulled over twice and i told him i hit the switch with my knee and got away hehe.

So far all i know is that you cant have flashing lights or red, white and blue lights. It also can not be visible to see, needs to be hidden. No, one really knows yet if its illegal. Poeple are sigining a pitetion to to legalize it, but they still don not know if its illegal.
