It has a multi-point fuel injection system with one injector on each cylinder.
M.P.F.I. Multi Point Fuel Injection. This is a fuel injection system for gasoline engine.
Yes. EFI stands for Electronic Fuel Injection, so essentially anything that doesn't have a carburetor is EFI. (Exceptions to this would be mechanical fuel enjection, but as far as i know it was never done on a gasoline engine, only diesels). In 94, GM used a TBI injection system, meaning Throttle Body Injection. Its still computer controlled fuel injection, but it has two injectors where the carburetor would normally sit, instead of the more modern port injection, which uses a separate fuel injector for each cylinder.
Carburetor, mechanical fuel injection, throttle body electronic fuel injection, ported electronic fuel injection,
To my knowlege the spider fuel injector system came out in the 96 models. 1995 still had the throttle body injection.
The 1996 Chevrolet Silverado no longer came with throttle body fuel injection. It probably has the central sequential fuel injection system (CSFI) where each cylinder has its own fuel injector.
There is no firing order with datsun injection. It is a "batch fire" system. That means when 1 injector fires they all do. The system gets a signal from the ignition coil as to when to fire.
If your vehicle has a throttle body injection system ( TBI ) the injector(s) is in the throttle body wich looks similar to a carburator. If your vehicle has a multi port fuel injection system there is one injector for each cylinder located on the head or in the intake manifold generally connected by a fuel rail.
A vehicle with "single point injection" has one fuel injector injecting fuel for all cylinders, regardless as to how many cylinders the engine actually has. More modern vehicles are "Multi-point Injection" which generally means they have one injector per cylinder. In these cases each injector generally injects fuel for a specific cylinder. Hence a 4cyl engine would have 4 injectors, an 8 cyl engine 8, and so on. A single point system is cheaper to manufacture (less wiring, fewer injectors, etc), but generally is slightly less efficient than a multipoint system, hence why more modern cars are multi-point injection.
MFI is an acronym for Multiport Fuel Injection. An MFI Fuel System is a fuel injection system that uses one injector per cylinder, mounted on the engine to spray fuel near the intake valve are or the combustion chamber.
Yes, It is a mechanical fuel injection system with an injector pump to pump fuel to the injectors.
Most modern diesels use direct injection at very high pressures.
