Grounds the fuse box. Connect it back up.
o/s under dash , twist two plastic screws and panel will hinge down , engine fusebox at battery box , good luck
If the fusebox melted there is probably a reason and it would be best to have it repaired proffessionally but assuming there are no short circuits you can run a single wire from the battery positive to the coil positive to get ignition power and then using a screwdriver bridge the main battery cable and small start terminal on the starter solenoid to turn the engine over.
More than likely there is a short in your electrical circuit either between the headlights and your switch or in your Headlights fuse. Check under the bonnet near the battery for a fusebox then check for the Headlights or Headlamps fuse then check to see if the fuse has been blown (the fuse will be in a seethrough casing and the circuit will be separated). Another good tool to get for yourself is a simple voltmeter, you should be able to find a voltmeter for about 10 to 30 euros and then read the instructions. When checking for automotive circuits set your voltmeter for DC voltage then place your positive probe on one part of the circuit and your negative probe on another part and note the reading. If the reading fails to read toward normal voltage (12-14VDC) then you have identified the shortcircuit and may be able to replace the shortcircuit or inform your mechanic or dealership or agency of your problem.
Check the fuse and relay marked TNS. check fuse fuse panel is labled with each fuse if you checked the fuse + the relays and everything is ok, it's your (DRL unit)or if you prefer = minus 150$!! Good luck and don't worry, it's really easy to change except for where they put this small box. (behind left side of dash!!)
Answerit could be because one of your tail lights, brake lights, reverse lights, etc. the dash light goes off to let you know this. there is nothing wrong with the dash, probably. then again i have also seen minor electrical parts fried that cost an immense amount of mula. try the lights new answeri hit a deer once and that same thing happenned to my '88 century. I ended up replacing a fuse in the dashboard fusebox that, in the manual that came with the car (if i remember correctly) did not directly correspond to either the dash lights or rear lights. only after checking ALL the fuses and after the replacement of this supposedly unrelated, yet obviously blown fuse, they worked. My wife decided to jump start another vehicle during our ice storm and burned the contacts in the light switch.. which was the contact to bridge the dash/taillampsNew answer:I had this same problem with my 1990 Century. All my lights worked (except dash/tail) and my fuses were good. Replacing the head light switch took care of the problem. I hope that helps
Some are in the fusebox by the battery and others are above the fusebox in the passenger footwell.
The fusebox in a Ford Escort is located right in front of your left knee when you're sitting in the driver seat. Disconnect the battery, then desconnect al connections to the fusebox, install new fusebox and reconnect the fuseconnections. Finally you reconnect the battery and you're good to go.
Its in the trunk where the battery is.
under the back sit in the fusebox next to the battery. in the fusebox under the back sit.
Under the hood, next to the battery.
It is under the hood by the battery

If you are looking for the fusebox in general its located by the battery. Just take your seat off and look by the battery. That's where its located on my 93katana750. Good Luck
