Colored briefs are way more socially accepted. The people who say it is "uncool" are those at about high school age. After high school its completely fine to wear whatever you want (I personally say screw what others say and wear what you want even if its uncool). I find briefs much more comfortable than boxers so I wear them and im 17 also im in high school. So to answer the question I personally say yes.
