One thought:
Nowhere, in ANY Bible, Catholic or not, do the scriptures object to 'mixed' relationships. Color never enters into it scripturally, since we are all members of the 'human race' created by God, from one source and equal.(Genesis 3:20/Genesis 9:18+19/Genesis 10:32). What the scriptures DO say is:
--God made from ONE man, every nation on earth. NO one race is above another(Acts 17:26+27)
--People from ANY nation are acceptable to God if they are obedient to him(Acts 10:34+35)
--when we date we should be of a mature age('past the bloom of youth')(1 Corinthians 7:36)
--A person can marry ANYone they want if they are both faithful Christians(1 Corinthians 7:39)
--Ultimately, when we marry, no matter what race we are, God expects us to be loyal(Genesis 2:24/Matthew 19:5/) and love our mates, showing deep respect(Ephesians 5:25-33). In any marriage, there will be problems(1 Corinthians 7:28), but those choosing to become an inter-racial couple in this world may well face more, so must be prepared for people who do not share The Bible's view, and 'count the cost' (Luke 14:28-30).
Additional Thought:
The Judeo-Christian Bible does not speak for or against marriage between the races, and doesn't imply the practice is a sin. The Scriptures however do exhort an individual to seek one in the faith to marry, and they do condemn interreligious marriage (Ezra 10:18-19; 2 Corinthians 6:14).
Paul’s observation on another matter may bear consideration concerning
interracial dating and marriage:
New King James Version (NKJV)
Glorify God in Body and Spirit12
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
Paul is basically saying something may be permissible but it may not be wise. The idea that an interracially married couple can go anywhere or live happily anywhere they wish is, sadly, a myth. There are areas of the world where interracial marriage brings about strife and hardships for the couple, their children, as well as their extended families. There are hate groups who incite acts of violence against people who date or marry one of a different race or culture.
Though there are some who teach that when God established the 'Table of Nations' after the Tower of Babel, he separated mankind into geographical areas and languages for the sole reason of keeping the 3 primary races - white, black, and yellow - pure. But surely God saw the future when travel and conquest would break down this physical separator. What we must keep in mind is this:
New King James Version (NKJV)
7
But theLord
said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. FortheLord
doesnotseeas man sees;[
a
]for man looks at the outward appearance, but theLord
looks at the heart.”
Footnotes:.
It's not a matter of Whites Destroying Blacks! Violence has been around since the beginning of time with all men (women) of race. The first crime in the Bible was cane killing his brother able and so on. Whites Destroy Whites, Blacks Destroy Blacks, it's I think racism is overrated!
The term 'catholic' in this sense means 'universal.' In that the Bible is worldwide, it Is catholic. This has nothing to do with the Catholic Church.
Roman Catholic AnswerThe Gospels in the Bible are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The "Catholic Bible" is the Bible as used by the Church for two millenium.
The New Jerusalem Bible is Catholic.
no
All were black
I recommend the Ignatius Catholic Bible, RSV Second Catholic Edition. Many Catholic scholars and theologians use this Bible and reference from it, however it is easy to read and understand
Roman Catholic AnswerOf course not! There is only one Bible, commonly referred to as the Holy Bible.
THe Gideon International Bible is most certainly not a Bible approved by the Catholic Church.
== == Dr. King rewrote the Bible in German.By having blacks and whites have the same equality
Roman Catholic AnswerYou are operating with a mistaken assumption. The Catholic Church wrote the Bible, the Catholic Church decided which books were canonical (included in the Bible), and the Catholic Church has conserved the Bible through the centuries. The only ones who changed any Scriptures in the Bible are the protestants, who, after fifteen centuries of a Bible preserved by the Catholic Church came along and threw books out of the Bible, and changed the meanings of books they would not throw out.
Whether Protestant or Catholic, it's good he allowed the Bible to be translated into English. He was the first Monarch to do this.
