The main theme is Love vs. Hate. Daniel is conflicted between love vs. hate. He hates the Romans, but he loves Leah and Thacia and Jesus. But he is confilcted, should he go back to his Roman-hating lair in the mountains with Rosh, or should he stay with Jesus and follow him and care for his sister Leah who is on the brink of death? He eventually chooses to love Marcus the Soldier and invite him into his house to care for Leah. Jesus comes and heals Leah, and then Thacia and Daniel become engaged with just one simple look at each other.

The Bow of Bronze symbolizes our weakness, the thing we love , the thing we are hiding behind our back. We are basically saying, "God, I will give up anything to follow you. Except my house. Except my popularity. Except my money. Except my cell phone." God will help us bend the bow of bronze by telling us to love.

Psalms 18:33-34 "He makes my feet like hinds' feet, he sets me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war so that I may bend a bow of bronze."

Our ultimate weakness, the thing we are hiding, is hate. So the bow of bronze is hate. God bends our hate with love.

Through comparing and contrasting love vs hate in The Bronze Bow, we find that in reality love conquers all. Love will always win because God conquers all ,and God is love.

God says if one chooses to follow Him, He will give him strength to bend the bow of bronze. That strength is love. So even though Daniel has hate, if he chooses to follow Jesus, God can help him bend the bow of bronze (p.87). When God strengthens us, He can help us do something that seems impossible. God strengthens us with love. If we have love, we can fight hate, because love has the victory in the end.

John 3:16 " For God so LOVED the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever shall believe in him will not perish, but have everlasting life."

So. choose to love.

A good book to read before or after The Bronze Bow would be Hinds' Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard, a book about spiritual maturity.

The main conflict in "The Bronze Bow" is Daniel's internal struggle against his desire for vengeance and his growing involvement with a group following Jesus, who preaches forgiveness and nonviolence. Additionally, Daniel must navigate his relationships with his sister, who is loyal to the Romans, and with the Roman soldier who killed his parents, as he seeks to find a path to redemption and inner peace.

Well different people think it is at different times. I think the climax is when Leah is sick, right before Jesus heals her.
