This 180 hp engine is very common GM engine and used very widely. There are specifications for this engine widely available,
There is a red wire that runs from the under hood fuse box to the engine computer. It is 12 gauge and may have a white tracer. If you open the harness, starting at the fuse box, you should find the wire broken at a splice joint.
The fuse is under the hood on the drivers side of eng compartment
Does it have.inerference eng
fuses are in the eng compartment, facing the eng , to the right , under the plastic shield, also in the trunk , back section of the seat wall

If you are talking about the Engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT) it is mounted in the following locations: 1.8L eng. in the cylinder head. 1.9L eng. threaded into the heater hose inlet pipe. and the 2.0L eng. at the left rear of the engine
check eng. light code 2716
If you have a 4 cyl eng, looking down from the front of the car it would be directly under the intake in line with the black breather box on top of the engine. it is attached to the transmission bellhousing.
Well, the simple answer is yes, the air conditioning is fused. I don't think that's the answer you want though. The Monte has three fuse locations: 1) interior fuse box is located on the right hand side of the instrument panel 2) exterior fuse box 1 is located under the hood on the right hand side by the coolant reservoir, 3) exterior fuse box 2 is located under the hood on the left hand side next to the windshield washer fluid reservoir. In the interior fuse box, fuse #14 is for the blower motor, fuse #15 is for the climate control panel and fuse #24 is for the blower switch and A/C solenoid under the dash. The Eng. Emis. fuse(15A) (brown wire)located in underhood fuse box 1 supplies power to the A/C compressor relay and compressor clutch coil. NOTE: the PCM will not act on an A/C signal request to activate the the A/C relay if the A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor (RPS) is malfunctioning. This will show up as a code P0530 on your scanner. Hope this helps!
Not good. Sounds like engine damage or timing chain broke or jumped a tooth??? I am no expert here. Good luck.

For any fuse to blow out you have a short somewhere. A short is when a hot wire touches the body or some other ground.
well front engine is cheaper gas due to it in front pulling vec. and rear eng. is in back pushing vec.
