The combustion reaction begins with the rapid combination of a fuel and oxygen. This produces heat and light (fire).
A Neutron.
Heat will increase the rate of any chemical reaction. This is because a chemical reaction require three things: The molecules to collide, collide with enough energy, and collide in the correct orientation. With increased heat you increase the number of collision and the energy with which molecules collide. For non-organic enzymatic reactions(ex platinum catalyzes several hydrogen reaction) heat will speed up the reaction. For organic reactions heat will only increase the rate up to a point. If the temperature gets too hot it begins to denature the enzyme and the enzyme will no longer work.
The reactants
The substances that are present when a chemical reaction begins are reactants, at the end of the reaction they form products.
There are two. Salivary amylase is an enzyme that begins the enzymatic breakdown of starches and lingual lipase which begins the enzymatic breakdown of lipids.

No: the substances present at the beginning of reaction are the reactants or reagents.
The digestion of starch begins in the mouth during mastication. The ptyalin enzyme (an amylase) converts the starch to sugar .
