Brom is only alive for a period of time in the first book, Eragon. He passes away after a fatal wound from the Shade he and Eragon fought. Eragon and Saphira built a tomb for him atop a mountain.
that his name was brom
Beacause it entitles how Murtagh is claiming his Inheiritance from his father by taking Zar'roc back from Eragon and Eragon taking his Inheiritance by taking Brom's ring which is rightfully his because Brom is his father. (sorry if I ruined the ending)
Paolini has stated that he would like to write more stories featuring the world of Alagaesia, once book four of the Inheritance Cycle has been released. Details about plans for such stories have not been revealed, but it is possible that Paolini will choose to write about the backstory of the events of Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and Book Four.
Eragon's true father is Brom, a former Dragon Rider who becomes Eragon's mentor throughout the "Inheritance Cycle" series. It is revealed later in the series that Brom is Eragon's father, not Morzan as originally believed.
Inheritance Cycle was created in 2002.
The second book in The Inheritance Cycle is titled Eldest.
Probably on the offical site for the inheritance cycle.
They talk about brom being a dragon rider and that brom is really eragons father (ps you find this out in brisingr)
Actually, No. If you haven't read Brisingr, Stop reading, as this is a big secret you don't learn until almost the end of the book. Eragon's father is (If you can, I suggest you look for small hints of this in the books, Because they are there) Brom. Yep, Brom. Apparently, Brom fell in love with Selena, even though she was married to Morzan. Not even Galbatorix or murtagh knew this. Only Brom and a few select people he told knew about him and Selena. Oh, and get this, Saphira knew, and she didn't tell Eragon! (Oaths stink.)
He has confirmed that the name is Inheritance.
As far as we know from the three books that have been released Brom and Morzan were not brothers. Oromis tells Eragon that Brom met Morzan while Brom was training to become a rider. However, this doesn't mean that they definitely are not brothers as they could have been separated at birth. I do not believe that they are because Paolini has given no subtle indications of that type of relationship, and there is usually gratuitous amounts of foreshadowing in his writing. Actually, they are brothers by marriage because Selena had Murtagh with Morzan and Eragon with Brom so technically they are brothers by marriage
Brom is already dead in book 2, but he is a Dragon Rider whose dragon, Saphira, had been slew by Morzan, the first and last of the Forsworn. Brom's true identity was revealed as Eragon's father by Oromis. Brom slew 3 of the Forsworn and was responsible for another 5. Brom was the last of the elf-friends brfore Eragon.
