I'm not sure what kind of "periods" you are talking about (since it is under business and finance section), but if you are talking about menstrual periods, you will just know. If you're not sure, wait another month and if it happens again, then you've started.
When I was in my primary school, I had a friend who did tell our teacher she had started her periods and it was all OK. But we had a very small school and our teacher was really nice.

Hiya, You sure can! -I missed 5months of periods. Its most usual when you've just started, but it does happen every now and again. Your completely fine, just the cycle, although i noticed, since you missed a couple of months, when you do come back on, your periods may be slightly heavier. -This is fine.
