Cool Hand Luke
Confederate Captain Henry Wirz was found guilty of war crimes. Also there was Champ Ferguson who was portrayed as a horrible monster but his whole story was never told and his descendants are in the process of writing the whole story now. Henry Wirz was the commander in charge of the POW camp for Union soldiers at Andersonville.
The movie is actually titled, Courage Under Fire, but the answer is Meg Ryan.
1. She helped communicate between the early settlers and the Powhatan Indians. 2. The animated movie based off of her. (VERY INACCURATELY)
This event, later depicted in the movie Heartbreak Ridge, was reported as truth by the news media in 1983 and the US Army did not deny it. It was used as an example of the failure of US military communications between the Army and Navy at Grenada.
There are many good ones, but Spartacus (1960) should not be missed. The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964) is another favorite of mine. It was a failure with critics and audiences, but Martin Scorsese also counts it as a favorite. The movie Gladiator (2000) was a semi-remake of this story, but it was a huge critical and commercial hit, and it is also one of the best. The movie Gladiator and Attila The Hun were the best movies even if Attila the hun movie was kinda a little fake when they showed the battle scene. If you are into musicals, 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' is great.
Cool Hand Luke
"What we've got here is failure to communicate," is a quote from the movie, Cool Hand Luke. The first person to say it in the movie was the prison warden. Later, Luke, played by Paul Newman, says it as a prisoner.
the movie potrays themes such as war, nationalism, and the failure to communicate...
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it. And I don't like it any more than you men. The captain isn't the only one who utters the words. Later in the movie, the main character, Luke (Paul Newman), still cocky despite being cornered by prison guards, openly mocks the Captain with the famous line.
