no such thing as placement of shooting badges on dress blue "alphas." the alphas are the jacket with large medals. the dress blue "bravo" is the blues jacket worn with ribbons and badges.
Where are mini medals placed on Navy dress blues?
The mini medals are placed the same as regular sized medals. 1/4" above left breast pocket.
Can Medals and ribbons be worn on marine corp dress blues?
Yes, but the only ribbons you can wear are the ribbons that does not have a corresponding Medal i.e Combat Action Ribbon, Seaservice Deployment Ribbon. You can wear up to 7 medals in one row but they have to be mounted a special way. Ribbons are worn on the right hand side and follow the 1/8th on an inch spacing from the pocket.

Special skill (such as airborne wings) and marksmanship badges are also worn on the left side above or below ribbons, though when wearing fullsize medals on dress blues drivers and mechanics badges may not be worn nor may any special skills badges or marksman ship badges be worn beneath full-size medals on the pocket flap of Army male dress blues. As per the new AFI 36-2903 4.9.1.3.3. Ribbons. All ribbons and devices will be worn on the men's service dress uniform. However, if the service coat is not worn then 4.9.2.3.2 states that all or no ribbons and devices will be worn on the shirt itself.
