The ignition module on a 5.7 Chevy engine should be on top of the motor. It is mounted beside the distributor.
Really going back in time. If it is the same as the '87, the module is on the firewall. Small box with a wire plug in. Sort of silver in color. Most times when this module is defective, the engine will cut out, and after a few minutes will restart. Ford should still have the part in stock. Just make sure the points are gapped properly and the rotor is in good shape.
you don't have a 5.3L in the bronco. If it is indeed an Eddie Bauer then it should be a 5.8L, but other options include 5.0L and 4.9L.
check ignition module with the engine craking and a automotive tst light atached to th battery gound probe the ignition coil on both sides one shold light the light the other should be a blinking grond if not replace the ignition module
Follow the 2 pin connector from the top of the coil located on the driver side front of the distributor. It should lead to a 2 pin connector, as well as a 4 pin connector. This is the ignition control module.
Please check your spark plugs, wires, distributor and rotor or the ignition coil module. My '93 LX has an ignition coil module.
You can set the gap on the ignition module if the flywheel's magnets are not close. The gap should be at least 0.010 to 0.012 from the flywheel.
The van should have electronic ignition, resistors are built into the ignition module and cannot be serviced. The module is located on the left inner fender below the master cylinder.
should be on right side, front of engine. at upper radiater hose, if not there check the thermostat housing!! on the 3.1 it is located by the ignition control module.
AnswerI have a 1994 Ranger with the 2.3 motor. There are actually two ignition modules because there are 2 plugs per cylinder for a total of eight. If you open the hood and face the engine it should be on the left hand side of the engine and you should be able to see where all the plug wires plug into it, you can't miss it! =] Good Luck! This answer is actually for the Coil Packs. The ignition module (there is only one) is located somewhere else in the engine compartment. I still can't find it myself...so far.it is on your intake
No, and there should be no reason to do so.
The ignition module should be attached to the distributor with two small machine screws.
