Is true when the national weather service issues a tornado watch a tornado has been spotted?

No, if a tornado is spotted a tornado warning is issued .A tornado watch is not as bad as a tornado warning is. The watch just means that it is the type of weather that could POSSIBLY produce a tornado. It doesnt even mean that there is rotation or high winds. A warning is something to worry about though.

Can you survive a tornado while strapped to a pole?

Probably not. Most people killed by tornadoes are struck by debris, not picked up and thrown. Strapping yourself to a pole leaves you exposed and is perhaps the worst thing you could possibly do in a tornado.

Could an EF3 Tornado Lift Up Atomic Betty's Ship?

Probably not. Atomic Betty's ship appears to be the size of a large house, and is streamlined. An EF3 tornado can lift an empty train car and possibly and unachored house, but not carry it far. That said, an EF3 tornado might be able to overturn it.

What was an important tornado?

The Seymour, Texas, tornado of April 10, 1979 is a prime example of a tornado that is destined to be misjudged on the Fujita Scale. This spectacular funnel was probably capable of F4 damage, had it passed through a town. It produced only telephone pole and tree damage, and thus could be rated no higher than F2 damage. The Seymour tornado was in the same family as the devastatingWichita Falls, Texas tornado, which remains as of this writing, the most damaging in US history. Video of this tornado is used in the Fujita Scale segment of Tornado Video Classics II
