There were US Civil War battles in all of the all Southern states, as well as some Northern states and some US Territories.

Gettysburg and Antietam were the major battles in the North. There were also battles in Missouri, Kentucky and Maryland. In addition the Confederacy conducted raids as far north as Ohio. There were also armed conflicts in the Indian Territory and the Southwest territories.
