Some headunits share a power antenna & remote wire are the same wire. If it is hooked up to power antenna and not hooked up to factory amp there is no signal to tell amp to power up
I had a similar problem with a '70's model pontiac. There had been an aftermarket stereo installed and believe it or not the + and - were backwards (radio was wired backwards) Only difference was if I had the radio on and turned the high beams on it blew the radio fuse. Hope this helps you.
make sure the speakers werent stolen first off then try new wires from the stereo to a speaker that you are sure works. if that speaker doesnt work take your stereo back
The steering wheel controls are probably bad The only fuse is the radio fuse and if the radio works the fuse is OK Also if you do not have the original stereo, and your new stereo does not have a place to plug in those controls they will not work.
if you have an aftermarket radio or if there was ever one installed then it would be the hazard light switch. it works as a relay for the stereo and lights. Replace it and you should be fine. Ebay says liek $60 but its only like $30 at the dealer.
radio works 25 watts but if it is valve radio then it works like this listen... turn the volume high enough and quickly do the tone then just tap the off button and turn it on then everything will be installed in it and press play or some others thats the hacked way guys thanks.
Turn the dimmer switch up. Just kidding I'm sure you looked for that.
If the radio is not working on a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport it might be a blown fuse. Try the CD player to see if that works. If the CD player works then it might be an antenna problem.
Your stereo settings are set to pick up news in whatever area you are driving when the news comes on. Check your manual, or press the TA button, works for me.
This is a transmitter that works in conjunction with your car stereo to broadcast content from your mp3 player over your radio using FM radio waves. This can also work with some digital recorders.
If it is an aftermarket stereo then i would say that the installer tied into the dashboard illumination or headlight power wire for 12 volt power for the stereo.
Somebody please answer this i am also having a problem. if i wire the aftermarket radio it does not even power on. but if i put the stock radio back in it works. could this be a problem with the ground? Help!
if your radio works and not the CD player, and its all one unit, then you probably don't have a wiring problem, the problem exists in the unit itself
